Drawing Walls

The wall tool allows you to create a two-sided line. The video and article below shows

  • How to Access the tool
  • The different drawing modes (Continuous and Segment)
  • How to change wall display settings (Outline and Fill colors)
  • How to change wall properties (Thickness and how lines connect)

 

 

Access the Wall Tool 

The wall tool is accessed by tapping on the Wall icon (3rd icon on the toolbar)

Drawing Modes 

Just like with the Pen tool, you can create a wall in the control or continuous modes

  • Continuous mode allows for a more fluid yet precise continuous drawing. 
  • Segment mode allows you to precisely draw one wall segment at a time

 

Set Default Wall Display Settings

To change how all future walls will be displayed:

  1. Tap the Wall icon to become active (Orange color indicates active)
  2. Tap third sub-option - to change the Outline and Fill colors

Change an existing wall's Display Settings

  1. Select one or more existing wall segments
  2. In the lower left corner of the canvas, tap Color & Styles icon

Set Default Wall Properties 

You can set a wall thickness and a Location Line (determines how walls will connect

  1. Tap the Wall icon to become active (Orange color indicates active)
  2. Tap fourth sub-option - to change the Outline and Fill colors

Change an existing wall's Properties

  1. Select one or more existing wall segments
  2. In the lower left corner of the canvas, tap the Wall Properties icons

Location Line

The Location Line option allows you to determine who two lines will connect. There are three available options:

Centerline - When walls connect, they connect at their centerlines. 

Exterior - Represents the outer face of the wall. The Wall body will appear on the right side of the connecting wall.

Interior -  Represents the inner face of the wall. The Wall body will appear on the left side of the connecting wall.

 

Edit Options 

Like other drawn objects, walls can be edited

  1. Select the wall segment to Rotate, Move, Duplicate, Mirror or Delete
  2. Use the Trim or Extend options
