Settings

Changing the way ArcSite looks and works is managed by the settings accessible from the Setting icon (shown below) located on the top right row of the canvas.

Frequently Used 

  1. Choose the unit used and how precise you need - The Units and Precision section enables you choose between Metric and Imperial and both the length and angle precision levels
  2. Snapping - change how the app automatically snaps against other objects - The section - Object Snap lets you choose how and where objects will snap to each other.
  3. Setting up the Grid - The optional grid makes manual drawing easier. The grid options in include: showing or hiding, choosing a grid size, and whether objects snap to the grid. These topics are discussed in more detail in this article - Grid Options

All Available Settings

Units and Precision section
Sample Format This is a display only example of how the your selected Unit type and Precision Level will appear on the canvas. You set those settings below.
Length Units Specifies the length unit of measurement used for the active project. Options include; feet, inches, meters, millimeters
Length Precision Specifies the level of length unit precision used for the active project. Imperial options include; 1, 1/2, 1/4, 1/16, 1/64 of specified Unit. Metric range from 0 - 0.0000
Angle Units Specifies the angle unit of measurement used for the active project. Options include; Decimal Degrees, Degrees/Minutes/Seconds and Surveyors Units
Angle Precision Specifies the level of angle precision used for the active project. Decimal Degree options range from 0 d - 0.000d, Degrees/Minutes/Seconds range from 0d - 0d00'00.0 and Surveyors Units range from N 0d E to N 0d00'00.0" E
   
Background Show / hide images and PDFs in background
Rulers Show/hide rulers on top and left edge of canvas
Grid Show / hide background grid
Grid Spacing Specify the amount of spacing between grid lines
Closing Guideline Show / hide the temporary vertical and horizontal paths that appear while drawing. These paths help you draw objects at specific angles or in specific relationships to other objects.
Realtime Dimension Turn on and off the ability to edit dimensions manually. When on, you can tap on any displayed dimension to modify manually.
Magnifier Show / hide the magnifier that appears in top left corner of canvas when you draw or edit objects.
Mode Switcher Show / hide the icon (lower left corver of canvas) that allows you to switch between the Pen tool's continuous and control modes.
Auto Complete Toggle on and off the feature where ArcSite will snap a currently being drawn segment to the next available surface without user interaction
Object Snap section
End Points Toggle on and off the automatic snapping to the end of a segment
Mid Points Toggle on and off the automatic snapping to the mid point of a segment
Edges Toggle on and off the automatic snapping to the edge of a segment
Grid Toggle on and off the automatic snapping to the the next grid line
Horizontal / Vertical Toggle on and off the automatic snapping to the next object in either the horizontal or vertical direction
PDF Content Toggle on and off the automatic snapping to the an underlying PDF's content - Useful for tracing over PDF
PDF Export Options section
Contextually Located Photos Choose whether you want the insert photos to appear in the output. Useful as photos can be large and interfere with email, because of size limitations 
Orientation Options here are to export in Landscape or Portrait mode 
Paper Size Choose the output paper size to print to 
PNG Export Options section
Background Type Choose between a transparent and white background 
Grid Choose whether to show grid lines in background 
Advanced Settings section
Smooth Freehand Stroke Choose whether you want the Freehand tool to automatically smooth or not
